![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | The River Tame The River Tame meanders lazily to and fro, wide and shallow and choked with weeds and reddish silt. Here, the river is susceptable to quite spectacular floods in the autumn.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | The Tame Gorge The River Tame flows in a great loop, around Windy Reach, into the lake. Whilst on land it is slow and sluggish, but as it falls down this rocky gorge in the hills it becomes narrow, quick and perilous.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | Cauldron Falls (1 sub-board) At the end of the gorge is this beautiful waterfall, its white waters sending a rainbow of spray into the air all year round. A small, deep pool froths at the bottom, and the mossy, dripping cave-mouths hereabouts are full of the echo of the pounding water.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | Singing Lake Beyond the falls, the broad river washes into a wide, deep lake. The lake's unusual name comes from the tuneful sighing sound of the breeze in the reeds that surround it. In many places the bank is steep and slippery, so be careful!

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | West Gladewood Forest A sprawling forest covers a good portion of the land. To the west it is dense and dark, with both evergreen and deciduous trees. Leaflitter crunches underfoot, and the sky is almost invisible beyond the towering canopy. Unclaimed territory.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | East Gladewood Forest (1 sub-board) Towards the east, the forest peters out into sparser woodland. It is easier to move about here, and the sky can be seen overhead. In the spring, the ground is a patchwork of tough grasses, soft mosses and bright heathers. Claimed by the Bellicus Pack.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | Windy Reach This elevated field of rough grass and gorse is the highest point in the area, commanding stunning views of the surrounding lands. It is perpetually windswept here, and so the few trees are stunted and bent close to the ground. Unclaimed territory.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | Floodplain (1 sub-board) This area lies level with the river at its fattest and shallowest, and it blooms with all kinds of life, being extremely fertile. This means that it supports a lot of prey, but also has the downside that every autumn its lower third is at best horribly swampy and at worst under water. Claimed by the Blackleaf Pack.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | The Pallid Mountains (2 sub-boards) The rock of these tall mountains is paler and greyer than that found on the rest of the island. The ground here rises steeply, becoming jagged and slippery with scree, and the south facing slopes are thick with spiny evergreens. When the snows come, the mountains are the first place on the island to catch them.

Auburn Beach boasts hidden rockpools and gorgeous sunsets, and is a fun playground for youngsters as well as a romantic hideaway on summer evenings.

![[ ]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Cazrolime/Buttons/NoNewposts.png) | The Red Cliffs (1 sub-board) The reddish-brown rock of these cliffs is responsible for the characteristic colour of mud and sand on the island. The cliffs themselves are sheer and dangerous, though if you brave the blustery path along the top you can enjoy the unchallenged view and perhaps snatch an egg or two from the raucous gannets and seagulls that nest all down the cliff-face.
